Successfully implementing a B2B store with Shopware

With Shopware you can successfully realize your B2B store. Shopware has all the functions required for successful e-commerce with corporate customers. This applies both to a pure B2B online store if your company is aimed exclusively at business customers. But also as a mixed B2C / B2B online store if you serve both customer segments. Of course, you can also offer different products (product range) at different prices for the two target groups in a mixed B2C / B2B online store.

Typical B2B store requirements

We often encounter similar requirements in our numerous B2B projects. We have compiled these for you in the following overview:

Functions in the store

  • Intelligent search with high performance (loading speed)
  • Products are usually displayed with net prices instead of gross prices.
  • Individual prices can also be displayed, i.e. each customer can see their individually negotiated prices and discounts after logging in.
  • Extended contact options, for example in the form of a hotline, support, chat or customer service
  • Display of individual contact persons for the customer in the My Account area of the store, i.e. after login
  • Document management in the closed area for delivery bills, invoices, credit notes, etc.
  • Assign your own article number for the products in the store

Shopping cart

  • Quick ordering via CSV uploads or product forms that allow order items to be entered quickly.
  • Minimum order values for the shopping cart
  • Budgets and quotas that are available to employees when ordering in the B2B store. For example, an employee’s purchases can be limited to certain order volumes or product categories.
  • Inquiry function, i.e. there is no final order of the shopping cart. The customer first asks whether the store operator grants discounts (absolute/percentage) for a shopping cart, for example.

REGISTRATION

  • Registration with company name and VAT identification number (USt-IdNr.)
  • Automatic check of the VAT ID number for correctness
  • Credit check
  • Activation of new customers by the store operator

Functions of a B2B e-commerce platform

  • Creation of companies with debtors and sub-contacts including roles, addresses and much more.
  • Approval of an employee’s orders by superiors (workflow)
  • Definition and use of different billing and delivery addresses for a company and its organizational units (head office, branches, countries)
  • Use of cost centers when ordering
  • Possibility of ordering by an employee in field service or sales for a customer
  • Preparation and processing of quotations and finalization as orders

Interfaces

  • Interface to merchandise management systems such as SAP, Navision for article master data, prices, stocks, etc.
  • OCI interface to access the product range of the online store directly from an ERP system.
  • Interface to a CRM system such as Salesforce for customer and order data
  • Use of our Pimcore PIM interface for Shopware 6 to manage product data in a PIM system.

Implementation of B2B e-commerce platforms with Shopware

We use different approaches to implement a B2B e-commerce platform with Shopware:

Shopware plans

Use of the B2B functions from the Shopware plans Rise, Evolve and Beyond, such as extended role and rights management, offer management, sales representatives, budget and approval processes, quick orders, order lists and customer-specific prices. The B2B functions available depend on the plan selected:

B2B plugins from third-party providers

B2B Sellers Suite

  • Use of the B2B Sellers Suite, a complete solution from a third-party provider with a variety of typical solutions for a B2B e-commerce platform. scope01 has been a partner of the B2B Sellers Suite from the very beginning.

Individual plugins and solutions from scope01

Irrespective of this, scope01 can implement your requirements at any time through individual developments. In principle, we try to individualize as little as possible in all our projects and stay close to the standard or standard solutions.

In order to find the right alternative for you, we define and discuss your requirements for a B2B e-commerce platform with you. Perhaps you have already compiled your requirements in a rough concept, functional specification or requirement specification. If so, we are sure to find the right solution for your online store.

We would also be happy to show you in an individual meeting how our customers have implemented their B2B projects and e-commerce platforms with Shopware and scope01. The experiences of other store operators can often provide important insights for your own project. Simply arrange an (online) meeting with us.
