Which Shopware versions are available?

With the changeover of the Shopware versions at the end of 2023, the classic license model of the Community, Professional and Enterprise Editions was replaced. The commercial Shopware versions were replaced by the Rise, Evolve and Beyond plans. Shopware now offers a license-free version and 3 commercial plans to meet the different requirements of companies.

  1. Shopware Community Edition: This license-free open source version is particularly suitable for small companies and developers looking for a flexible e-commerce platform. It offers basic functions, but no direct support from Shopware.
  2. Shopware Rise: This plan offers advanced marketing and analytics, many integrations and a focus on rapid growth.
  3. Shopware Evolve: Here, companies receive additional functions such as extended B2B capabilities, multi-channel integration and extensive support.
  4. Shopware Beyond: This plan is a customized enterprise solution that is priced individually. It includes advanced performance optimizations, tailored functions and comprehensive support.

Each plan includes features such as responsive design, product export and SEO tools. As costs increase, the features and scope of support expand to meet the specific needs of customers. The free Community Edition will continue to exist. A rough overview of the versions with the respective functions is available directly from Shopware. In the upper area of the Shopware page, the features are summarized for the first time in rough categories and provided with a points model. In the lower section, the features are listed again individually by category and assigned to the respective plan. The Shopware Community Edition is not listed on this page, but features that are listed here may also be available in the Shopware Community Edition.

The Shopware Community Edition

As an online store operator, the first question I naturally ask myself is “Why do I need this Shopware license and what does a Shopware license or a Shopware plan cost me?”. This question is not always easy to answer in the first step with scope01. We always decide on the basis of the project requirements whether the free Community Edition or a paid plan makes sense. But what can the Community Edition actually do, or rather, what can’t the Community Edition do?

  • Everything in the plans with a tick for Evolve and Beyond are of course not features of the Community Edition

Now, of course, it remains to compare the smallest version “Rise” with the Shopware “Community Edition” and look for the differences:

  • Premium Themes (e.g. CINEMA / ELLE / EMPORIUM / SHAPE / SHOWROOM Theme : Alternatively, you could implement your own theme or use a theme from the Shopware store.
  • Rule Builder | Preview: When rules are created, they can be checked directly with an order from the system to see whether they meet the requirements and deliver the correct result.
  • Flow Builder | Share Flows: Exporting created flows from one Shopware system and importing them into another Shopware system, e.g. creating flows on the test system and then importing them into the live system.
  • AI Copilot with all functions, such as content for experience worlds, customer classifications, export assistant, keyword assistant for images, summary of product reviews, personalized messages at checkout, product features, translation of reviews, product descriptions, context and image-based search, text to image.
  • 3D functionalities, such as extended support for 3D product visualization, augmented reality for mobile devices with QR code activation, 3D viewer for the Shopware worlds of experience and immersive elements

What features are only available with the Beyond Plan?

There are currently only a few features in the Beyond Plan that are not included in Evolve, Rise or the Community Edition. These include the following features:

  • Flow Builder | delayed actions: With this function, flows can be sent with a time delay, e.g. if a defined e-mail is to be sent to the customer two weeks after an order.
  • Digital Sales Rooms: Without having to switch between the presentation software and the online store, all functions can be directly connected to the digital salesroom with this feature.
  • Multi-inventory: Management of multiple warehouse and inventory stocks.
  • Subscriptions: Offer products by subscription. Products are then delivered at regular intervals without the order having to be actively triggered in the store each time. You can also configure the framework conditions for subscriptions according to your requirements.
  • Customized prices
