Our Pimcore PIM interface is ready for Shopware 6.
In addition to many new features and a new backend, Shopware 6 has also undergone some significant changes under the hood. The e-commerce software now follows an API-first approach, meaning that modular units are docked around the core product. The Admin API provides the administration interface (formerly the backend). In addition, various sales channels such as online shops, social media channels, and marketplaces can be controlled via the Sales Channels API.
Finally, the Sync API ensures communication between Shopware and external systems such as ERP or PIM. We also use this Sync API for our Pimcore PIM interface. This allows PIM and online shops to communicate seamlessly. Since this API was completely redeveloped by Shopware, we also rebuilt our Pimcore PIM interface from the ground up. Naturally, we did so based on our experience and projects with Shopware 5.
With the Pimcore PIM interface, you can centrally control all product data in Pimcore and display it on a Shopware-based sales channel. For example, on an online shop. To do this, Pimcore offers you all the advantages of open source PIM software:
- Professional data management
- Import and export of data
- Permissions and customized views
- Workflows and dashboards
- And much more
In addition, our interface also offers features such as:
- Multi-shop capability: Control of multiple sales channels and online shops
- Management of Shopware-specific free text fields
- Preview of the product detail page in Pimcore
- and much more.

For a technical understanding, there is now also an article in PHP Magazine written by our colleague Timo Trautmann. In this article, Timo describes the technical functionality and architecture of the interface.
