New Leica Online Shop available in Italy
The new Leica online store in Italy is a highlight for scope01. For an internet agency, having a global brand like Leica among its clients poses special challenges. These include the leap into international e-commerce activities. And that doesn’t just mean serving international markets from Germany. Rather, it means providing individual and optimal support for international markets and the companies operating in them. With a tailor-made solution that takes local requirements into account.
Together with scope01, Leica has replaced the existing online store based on Magento with the new online store Italy based on Shopware. The products of the world-renowned premium manufacturer of cameras and sports optics products are now presented in an appealing and modern environment.
As a special feature, in addition to products, courses for photographers are also offered in the academy in Italy. These can also be booked via the online store. Detailed information on content, instructors, course locations and availability is displayed for each individual course.
Manage product data with PIM
In order to better maintain and manage product data internationally, an e-commerce product database was introduced at Leica in advance. With the help of this product information management system (PIM), all relevant product data is now managed centrally. All translations are also managed in this system.
To this end, scope01 implemented the new e-commerce PIM system based on Pimcore. With the help of the extensive possibilities of the open source software, Leica’s requirements and processes could be optimally implemented. This provides employees with ideal working conditions when working in Pimcore. User perspectives and custom layouts enable a customized interface. The rights & roles system ensures a customized user management. Last but not least, scope01’s PIM interfaces enable smooth communication of product data from Pimcore to Shopware.
In addition, Leica has an association in Italy for all friends of the traditional brand, the Leica Club Italia. This club should be connected to the online store. For this reason, scope01 has created a connection in the form of a single sign-on (SSO). This allows Leica enthusiasts to use both the club and the online store with one login.
